Toby Creek Race – a brief history

In its second year, the 2016 edition of the Toby Creek race almost doubled in size. 59 participants came from 5 countries and numerous provinces. The top honours went to Thea Froelich and Carl Whitehead in the Elite W/M divisions. Trevor Boyd in Expert and Mya Bloom in Intermediate rounded out the individual winners. The total payout was over $4000 in Prizes and 2017 promises to be even richer! Toby creek 2016 results
The intermediate course is an great first taste of creek racing. A gentle class 3 section that once hosted the 1982 National Championships for slalom is an idea set up with 3-5 gates to challenge your boat moving skills. Easy safety and excellent viewing round out the reason to come view or participate in the event. Racers are welcome to test themselves on the intermediate course and then decide if they want to challenge the Expert course.

The Expert/Elite course is class 4 with multiple good whitewater features and technical slalom moves to challenge anyone’s individual racing skills.
Add to that the head-to-head format for Sunday’s boater X and you have a course built for Mikkel St-Jean Duncan, who is undefeated in the tactical race’s two year history!

Come for the race, but stay for the people and beautiful location at Panorama resort. See you in July!
